Activities

As a Middle Childhood Education Major, with concentrations in English and Social Studies, I found it important to become involved with not only my college but with my community. This is a compilation of the eight most noteworthy activities I partake in.

Chair of Media & Marketing for the College of Education, Health, and Society

As chair of the EHSA social media my duties include but are not limited to: posting daily/weekly updates on all social media platforms, creating interactive posters, conducting monthly meetings with my committee, and attending EHS events throughout the school year.

Ambassador for the College of Education, Health, and Society

The EHS Ambassadors do much more than give tours of the College of Education. The particular committee I collaborate with is multimedia and marketing, this team is in charge of documenting all EHS events as well as participating in campus wide activities. We create the brand of EHS.

National Council for Teachers of English PR Assistant

The National Council of Teachers of English – Student Affiliate of Miami (NCTE-SAM) is devoted to improving the teaching and learning of English and the language arts at all levels of education.  NCTE also helps pre-service teachers think more professionally about their future careers in education and acts as a connection between Miami’s future English teachers and the greater education community.

Dean's Office Secretary for the College of Education, Health, and Society

Working part time in the Dean’s Office in McGuffey Hall has allowed me to work side-by-side with other professors and administrators, all while exhibiting being a collaborative team player with leadership skills.

The National Society of Leadership and Success

After receiving the honors of “President’s List” an invitation  to join The National Society of Leadership and Success was sent to my home. I accepted, and through this community I am able to build networking skills and learn useful information about what it meant to be a successful leader.

Paws 4 a Cause Member

At Miami University I am a member of the Paws 4 a Cause club. Paws 4 a Cause hosts and trains service dogs, I am a basic member, as I still live in the dorm and cannot host a service dog at the moment. I do work different events where the dogs are present and explain to by- passers what this club does, and I get to work with dogs, which brightens everyday!

JoyRun Employee & Runner Marketing Associate 

As a JoyRun employee and Runner Market Associate (RMA) my responsibilities include but are not limited too: working with my Marketing Assistants and Market Managers to create and execute a growth campaign that is unique to Miami University. One must be nimble and able to adapt to challenges and new opportunities dynamically. Harbor superior time management skills to allow success in fast-paced environment, be resourceful, scrappy, and accountable.

Broom Ball Member

For two semesters I have participated on a Broomball team VIA the Miami Goggin Ice Arena. Being on a broomball team taught me how to work with a team in a sport setting. I have a lot of fun playing broomball and got to meet a lot of great people through playing the sport.
